Explore architecture and more with the Center for Architecture Explorations

The Center for Architecture Explorations (CAE) provides a variety of programming for K-12 students throughout the year.

This spring, join us for a special one time Saturday Feature, on designing Architecture in Pittsburgh, provided at no cost thanks to the CMU chapter of Freedom By Design.

Have you ever wondered why buildings around us look the way they do? For an insider look at the life and tasks of an architect, come and spend the morning with CMU architecture students to find out!

We’ll learn about the considerations and design decisions that designers think about for their buildings, before creating your own! This is a unique survey of the many different parts of architecture, from mapping and climate to how to draw plans and build models. If you’ve ever considered the field of architecture or are just interested in creating, this workshop is for you!

If you have any questions about this or other programs, email soa-cae@andrew.cmu.edu for more information.
