Technical Opportunities Conference and Converge (Virtual Event)

TOC and Converge Virtual Career Fair
Tuesday, September 21 - Wednesday, September 22, 2021
12-6 p.m. ET

For more than 40 years, the Technical Opportunities Conference has been the largest job fair on Carnegie Mellon's campus, focusing specifically on technical employment.

The TOC offers a great virtual opportunity for companies and potential employees to make connections for both full-time and summer employment.

Student Registration & Session Signup open on September 7th at noon ET in Handshake

We hope you register to join the event and sign up for 1:1 and group meetings with numerous employers.  This is a two-day event and employers will be different each day. Each day is set up separately in Handshake, so make sure you check both days to sign up for appointments with employers. We are using the Handshake Virtual Fair platform.

This exciting virtual career fair will bring together students from engineering, computer science, science or other technical programs. Employers from all industries looking to fill numerous and varied roles (internship & full-time) with students from these programs will attend.

As you prepare for the virtual fair, it’s important that you register for employer sessions in advance. You can only attend sessions you are registered for. Check out the Handshake Virtual Fair Student Guide for more details.

Some employers have set qualifications to define which students can register for their sessions. To ensure you qualify for employer sessions, make sure you have filled out the following fields on your profile:

·       School year, major and GPA, which can be found on your profile
·       Work authorization status, which can be found on the Privacy & Settings page

Here are some additional resources to help you prepare for the fair:

If you’re looking for more guidance on navigating a virtual career search, the CPDC team is available to help you before, during, and after the fair. Please email your questions to career@andrew.cmu.edu or schedule an appointment with your career consultant using Handshake.
