SoA Outreach Program Wins $30K Sprout Fund Grant

K-12 students in Pittsburgh can take active steps to redesign their own communities and make strides toward careers in the architecture-engineering-construction energy, thanks to a new initiative of SoA's Architecture Explorations program. Along with its partners in Pittsburgh's Architecture Learning Network (ALN), SoA has won $30,000 to implement its "Architecture for Civic Engagement" program in collaboration with Remake Learning. Much like good architecture itself, the program aims to be accessible to all learners by hosting architecture and design experiences throughout Pittsburgh and the region—especially in traditionally underserved neighborhoods—and through online initiatives.

SoA is joined in the Architecture Learning Network, which will collaboratively administer the program, by the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, Assemble, the Carnegie Museum of Art, Fallingwater, and the ACE mentorship program.

Stay tuned for further updates about ALN's new Architecture Pathway, and check out more SoA K-12 programs!
