The School of Architecture is pleased to announce that Joshua D. Lee, PhD, AIA, NCARB, LEED-AP has joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor. In this role, he will serve as the Co-Track Chair for the Master of Science in Architecture–Engineering–Construction Management (MSAECM) program.

Joshua’s research interests include sustainable design, adaptable architecture, systems-based architecture, public interest design, post-occupancy evaluation, educational facilities, and qualitative and computational analysis of architectural language. He recently completed his Ph.D. in Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin, where his dissertation focused on the School Construction Systems Development (SCSD) project. Prior to that, he earned a Master of Architecture, Master of Sustainable Design, and BA in Marketing.

“We are indeed fortunate to have Joshua join the faculty at the SoA,” said school head Steve Lee. “He is an interdisciplinary thinker who brings both practice and research skills to the school. His dissertation on the SCSD project is indeed timely, as facility designers have shown a renewed interest in integrating flexibility, adaptability, and innovative building delivery processes.”

Joshua previously served as a Lecturer and Assistant Director of the Restoration Institute at Clemson University, and as an architect on a wide array of projects at SOM-NY, SHW Group/Stantec-Austin, and Davis Wince. He currently heads the Protean Design Collaborative.
