Alumnus Rana Sen (A '99) Receives 2019 Alumni Service Award from CMU

The School of Architecture is proud to announce that Rana Sen, a 1999 PhD graduate from the Center for Building Performance and Diagnostics (CBPD), has been awarded a 2019 Alumni Service Award from Carnegie Mellon University.

The annual CMU Alumni Awards program honors professional achievements and generous service to the university. The university will recognize this year’s group of 11 scientists, artists, business innovators, nonprofit leaders, technologists, and visionaries on May 17 during Commencement Weekend.

Sen serves as a managing director at Deloitte US where he leads their smart city initiative and the US state/local transportation practice and smart city work globally. His work includes design and implementation of smart transportation solutions, automation of long-term care case management, and disease surveillance and outbreak prevention system, and “smart city” strategy. He is a frequent speaker on disruptive innovation and smart city topics at conferences, and publishes on the subject.
