The School of Architecture congratulates Payette for having not one but two projects named recipients of the 2019 AIA COTE® Top Ten. Both the New Science Center at Amherst College and the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex at Northeastern University received this year’s award recognizing excellence in sustainable architecture and ecological design. The firm has received four AIA COTE® Top Ten recognitions in the past five years. The firm was also honored this year with the 2019 AIA Architecture Firm Award. Numerous SoA alumni at Payette have contributed to the great work recognized by this award.
Each year, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and its Committee on the Environment (COTE) select the top ten examples of sustainable architecture and ecological design projects that protect and enhance the environment. In its 21st year, the program celebrates projects that are the result of a thoroughly integrated approach to architecture, natural systems, and technology.

The COTE® Top Ten program highlights projects that meet the AIA Committee on the Environment's rigorous criteria for social, economic, and ecological value.
