Students graduating in Carnegie Mellon University's Class of 2019 have come a long way. CMU recently featured some of their stories, including those of two School of Architecture students. Nikhita Bhagwat (M.Arch ‘19), is graduating with the first class of graduates from the reintroduced Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program, and Zain Islam-Hashmi (B.Arch ‘19) earns his Bachelor of Architecture degree this spring.

Nikhita dedicated her M.Arch thesis to a 16-week independent study project that allowed her to document and design a teaching hospital in Neply, Haiti a small village about three hours away from the capital city Port-au-Prince. She created a facility that combines health operations, such as urgent care and pediatric care, with a medical school for the youth of the village. View the video feature of Nikhita’s project below, and on the CMU website. The video will also be featured during the CMU Commencement Ceremony on Sunday 19 May.
