M 22 Oct | 5:00pm | Kresge Theatre

David Lewis Lecture on Urban Design is sponsored by Urban Design Associates

Join the School of Architecture on Monday 22 October at 5:00pm for the next installment of our 2018 Fall Lecture Series.

We'll be joined by Brian Evans, Professor and Head of Urbanism at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Director of the Glasgow Urban Lab, and leader of the UN Charter Centre in Glasgow.

Evans’ lecture “Towards the Knowledge City: Reflections of a Design Nomad” will reflect on his 30 years of working with European cities and landscapes in practice, academia, and public service, most recently with the UN through a series of themes including the spaces of life, cities of the mind, the "Thompson Ten," the proto-knowledge city, and the super-urbanities of the north.

For 25 years Brian was a partner of Gillespies, the international urban designers and landscape architects (Glasgow & London), leading projects in 20 countries and winning over 50 national and international awards. Dr. Evans has published some 20 books and over 80 articles on urbanism and landscape design.
