For the Ann Kalla Professorship in Architecture, the CMU SoA seeks individuals who will extend our rich legacy of innovation and impact by working with us to craft the future of the discipline.
The Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) School of Architecture (SoA) is looking for individuals with a strong background, or emerging potential, in creative architectural accomplishment that elevates the discipline through research work, scholarly work, artistic work, and/or professional practice.
For 2019-20, we are looking to fill the Ann Kalla Professorship in Architecture. The School welcomes emerging practitioners and studio educators to develop a body of work while teaching in a dynamic school of architecture. During the nine months of your appointment, you will teach two design studios and a research-by-design seminar related to your pedagogical agenda. You will present your work in a public forum (e.g. lecture, symposium, and/or exhibition). In addition to your full time salary, you will receive support through research assistance and/or discretionary funding. While we welcome all applications, preference will be given to those that leverage the School’s resources in design, emergent fabrication/material technologies, computational design thinking, building systems integration, sustainable urbanism, and/or history and theory.
