CMU SoA Organizing 2019 Summer Study Trip to Scandinavia

Each year, the School of Architecture plans a summer abroad trip to study some of the world's most important architectural works. Last year students traveled to Germany; previous trips have included Holland, Spain, Switzerland, India, and Mexico.

For the summer of 2019, a two-week trip is being planned for students to visit the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Sweden, and Finland from late July to early August (tentative dates July 25 to August 8, 2019). The study trip is planned and led by professors Jeremy Ficca and Kai Gutschow. This is an official CMU course worth 12 units and is part of the CMU summer offerings. The trip will cost $4,250; generous "need-based" financial aid is available to current US undergraduate students in good standing at CMU.

Students interested in taking part in the trip, or with any questions or concerns, are asked to email Jeremy at jficca@cmu.edu and/or Kai at gutschow@andrew.cmu.edu so that they can gauge student interest (the trip can only happen if enough students sign up). An informational meeting will be held during the first week of school in January, stay tuned for further details.
