AIA Pennsylvania (AIA PA) interviewed SoA Professor and Head Steve Lee in a video commemorating the Alcoa Building and Mellon Square Park as recipients of the 50 Year Timeless Award. The video debuted during the live broadcast of the AIA Pennsylvania 2018 Architectural Excellence Design Awards ceremony on Thursday 15 November presented to the architecture community across Pennsylvania.
The 50 Year Timeless Award was established by AIA PA to recognize buildings that have endured the test of time and still resonate with the design community and the public. The building must be in Pennsylvania and the parent firm must have been a Pennsylvania firm at the time of construction.
