School of Architecture Ranked #11 in DesignIntelligence Survey

The Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture’s B.Arch program is ranked #11 overall in the 2019-20 DesignIntelligence Survey of Architecture Schools, and placed top-ten in 9 of 12 focus areas. For schools with 20-49 graduates, the SoA ranked #9 overall in most hired from architecture schools. Professor & Head Stephen Lee was again named one of the Most Admired Educators in Architecture this year.

EX-CHANGE: A celebration of work at the School of Architecture – latest edition now in print!

Announcing the release of the 2019 edition of EX-CHANGE, a publication celebrating the work of the SoA from first year to PhD. Inaugurated in 2017, EX-CHANGE represents an ongoing opportunity to shine new light on the SoA programs and to position the work within larger questions of research and practice. MAAD Research Video "Free-Oriented Additive Manufacturing" Presented at 2018 Robotics in Architecture Conference at ETH Zurich

The MAAD (CMU-PUM) research video "Free-Oriented Additive Manufacturing" was accepted to the 2018 Association for Robotics in Architecture Conference (Rob|Arch) call for videos and presented at the conference at the ETH in Zurich this past week. This video depicts a novel additive manufacturing application of fused deposition modeling on varying spatial conditions, deposition direction, and geometry to adapt to complex infrastructure conditions.

SoA Partners with Politecnico di Torino for Re-Industry Seminar 10 May

SoA, in partnership with the Department of Architecture and Design of Politecnico di Torino, partner to present the Re-Industry seminar 10 May 2017. The seminar will investigate the impact of industrial production on cities from an architectural and urban design perspective.
