The School of Architecture’s accredited B.Arch program achieved a ranking of #11 overall in the 2018-19 DesignIntelligence Survey of Architecture Schools. The SoA advanced three places from its #14 overall ranking in the previous survey from 2017-18. The SoA’s B.Arch program also placed top-ten in 9 of 12 focus areas this year.
The rankings, conducted annually by DesignIntelligence on behalf of the Design Futures Council, survey the design industry to compile rankings for architecture schools across the United States. See the full results on the DesignIntelligence rankings website.

In addition to the overall rankings, DesignIntelligence also evaluates the top ranked architecture schools in 12 focus areas. The SoA’s B.Arch program placed top-ten in 9 of 12 focus areas in the 2018-19 survey.

Top 25 Most Admired Educators in Architecture, Interiors, and Landscape Architecture
Stephen Lee, Professor & Head of the School of Architecture, was named one of the Top 25 Most Admired Educators in Architecture, Interiors, and Landscape Architecture in the 2018-19 DesignIntelligence survey. Steve most recently received the honor in 2015.
With regards to Steve, one of the survey respondents commented: “Steve is more than a professor and exceptional leader in the school of architecture. When students need help, whether it be academically or personal/emotionally related, Steve never fails to guide students one on one with the resources and comfort they need to successfully move forward both in school and their future career.”
Each year, DesignIntelligence honors excellence in architecture and design education, and education administration, by naming outstanding professionals from these fields. Educators and administrators from the disciplines of architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture are considered for inclusion. The Most Admired Educators are selected by DesignIntelligence staff with input from thousands of design professionals, academic department heads, and students.
