Registration Now Open for Center for Architecture Explorations Spring 2018 Saturday Workshops

Registration is now open for the Center for Architecture Explorations Spring 2018 Saturday Sequence Workshops. All workshops are taught by graduate students, faculty, and architecture professionals and are offered for middle school and high school students ages 11-18. The workshops focus on skill building central to the architectural design process. Students will learn specific skills including Adobe Photoshop, sketching, photography, and model building. The spring workshop series concludes with a portfolio building workshop taught by the School of Architecture’s undergraduate admissions coordinator and local architects.

The workshops begin on 10 March 2018 and run through 5 May 2018; the first workshop will cover the fundamentals of drawing and sketching along with a tour of buildings on CMU’s campus, including a project currently under construction. Students are encouraged to sign up for multiple workshops so that the experiences can build off of each other, and are invited to bring ideas and projects with them.

This year’s registration is now offered online. Once you create an account, you will be able to provide general information about your child, select the sessions you would like to register for, and then complete the required forms. This information will be saved to expedite registration for future programs. Please reach out to Samantha Weaver at sbweaver@cmu.edu if you have any questions or experience any issues with completing the registration process.
