CMU in Puerto Rico invites you to the Alternative Spring Break Trip Recap sessions:
Wed 17 April | 4:30pm
Scaife Hall, Room 220
Thu 18 April | 12:00pm
Hamburg Hall, Room 2008
Both sessions will be the same.
The trip was supported in part by the School of Architecture. Because of the support from various organizations, the group was able to take 13 CMU graduate and undergraduate students from programs as diverse as public policy, engineering, architecture, psychology, and business to Puerto Rico for a second year in a row!
The trip was designed to create more conscious future professionals that will support the community they work in, regardless of the field they enter, and included encounters with government officials, community leaders, and the faculty of the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez that taught them about climate resilient community development and disaster recovery through solar power, cooperatives, and agroecology.
The group has worked throughout the year to extend that education to the entire CMU community through our CMU in Puerto Rico Speaker Series. More information available at cmuinpuertorico.org.
