Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) with National Organization of Minority Architects Pittsburgh Chapter (NOMA PGH), is leading a series of conversations and workshops about racial equity in design and will utilize these findings to develop a plan to enhance and relaunch the UDream program. The work is taking place in Spring 2021, piloting our first UDream-related relaunch initiatives later in 2021 and planning for a full 2022 relaunch of UDream.

The first stakeholder meeting was successfully held on Thursday 25th March, 2021 to discuss the National Priorities for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. During this initial meeting, a brief overview of the program was provided, strategic partnerships were identified, and a sustainable funding model was brainstormed.

The session was facilitated by the UDream team including Dr. Erica Cochran, Jenna Wizzard Kappelt, and Ray Gastil. It also included attendees from the Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture, Carnegie Mellon University Leadership, the American Institute of Architects board, and the National Organization of Minority Architects board among others and was a huge success.
