Carnegie Mellon Architecture Awards $100,000 to ...

Carnegie Mellon Architecture is proud to announce the 2024 awardees for the PJ Dick Innovation Fund Faculty Grants Program. A total of $100,000 has been awarded to 16 project and teaching grant proposals. Established in 2023 by PJ Dick Trumbull Lindy Group, the program supports faculty research and teaching innovations that address the school’s three pedagogical challenges of climate change, social justice and artificial intelligence.

Spring 2024 Architecture Awards: Applications ...

Carnegie Mellon Architecture is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Spring 2024 Awards. Applications are due on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11:59pm ET. Over $44,000 of funding is available to support undergraduate and graduate students (Master’s and PhD). Awards recognize student work in public interest design, design and representation, sustainability, and real estate, as well as professional promise.

M.Arch Program Receives 8-Year NAAB Continuing ...

Our Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree program has received an eight year term of Continuing Accreditation with a Plan to Correct from the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Congratulations to Track Chair Sarosh Anklesaria and former Track Chair Kai Gutschow and the Master of Architecture students, staff and faculty.

B.Arch Student Monica Toren Competes on Winning Team in Amusement Park Contest

Fifth-year B.Arch student Monica Toren was part of a winning interdisciplinary team from CMU that competed at the Ryerson Invitational Thrill Design Competition in November. Toren will begin a hotel design internship with Disney World’s Facility Asset Management Team in Florida next year after graduating from the School of Architecture later this month.

Ecologics is a design-research seminar that investigates adaptive dynamic behaviors inspired by natural processes and biomimetics as a basis for design ideas and argues for built environment as part of larger planetary ecology. Please join us at the final review and exhibit of the work that the students have been pursuing during the spring semester.

IDeATe Gallery Receives Funding through ProSEED Grant Program

Daragh Byrne received a grant through the ProSEED/Simon Initiative Seed Grant program for his proposal entitled “Scaling The Gallery: A tool to support applied maker-based education through Project Documentation and Distributed Critique”; the funding will support the IDeATe Gallery.
