The Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture is pleased to announce that Omar Khan has been appointed head of the School of Architecture, effective 1 August 2020. Khan joins CMU from the Department of Architecture at the University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York.
SoA Head Candidates Public Lectures this Spring
All are invited and welcome to attend the public lectures from the six finalist candidates for the Head of the School of Architecture position this spring, where each candidate will present their work and their vision for the school. Lectures take place on the following dates at 4:30pm in the Hall of the Arts, room 160: Wed 29 Jan, Wed 05 Feb, Mon 10 Feb, Mon 17 Feb, Wed 26 Feb, and Mon 02 Mar.
School of Architecture Seeks New Head of School
The SoA invites applications for the position of Head of the School of Architecture. Applications are currently being accepted, and will be reviewed until the position is filled. The appointment begins on July 1, 2020.
Current SoA Head Stephen Lee will be serving the 12th and final year of his term as head during the 2019-20 academic year. Lee will continue on as tenured faculty with the SoA following the conclusion of his headship. The goal for the head search is to bring the new person on board with time to allow for a smooth transition into the next chapter of the school.
