This past week during a speaking engagement in Cologne, Germany, Stefan Gruber, Assistant Professor spoke on the topic of Pittsburgh as a role model of urban resilience.
Framed within the context of the city as organism, Stefan’s talk looked at the history of the past one-hundred years of revival and renewal in rust belt cities and the important role of local citizens’ initiatives in driving resilient urban development. Stefan’s lecture featured exemplary contemporary projects to highlight future opportunities for this type of development.
