The 2020 Fall Lecture Series continues on Monday 05 October at 7:00pm ET as we welcome Marshall Brown for his talk “Recurrent Visions.”
RECURRENT VISIONS Believing that the architect’s role is to test and expand the boundaries of reality, Marshall Brown’s projects give form to the interactions between architecture, power, and acts of world-making.
MARSHALL BROWN is an architect, urbanist, and scholar. He is Principal of Marshall Brown Projects, and has represented the United States at the prestigious Venice Architecture Biennale. His work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Crystal Bridges Museum. Brown is a MacDowell Fellow, and a Graham Foundation grantee. His projects and essays have been published widely in many prestigious publications. He is also an Associate Professor with tenure at the Princeton University School of Architecture where he directs the Princeton Urban Imagination Center. Brown’s teaching and research add tremendous value to his practice. Brown received his Masters degrees in Architecture and Urban Design from Harvard University where he won the Druker Fellowship for urban design.
The Fall 2020 Lecture Series focuses attention on architecture and activism, and the role that architecture can have towards social equity and spatial justice. Due to the current global health crisis and university policy, the Fall 2020 Lecture Series will be held in a virtual format for all visits.
