The School of Architecture is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2021 Sarosh Anklesaria will serve as the Track Chair of the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program, succeeding former M.Arch Track Chair Kai Gutschow, now Associate Head for Design Ethics. Joshua D. Lee will serve as the Track Chair of the Master of Science and PhD in Architecture–Engineering–Construction Management (AECM) programs, after previously serving as Track Co-Chair of the programs with Dr. Erica Cochran Hameen, now the SoA’s Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
Sarosh Anklesaria joined the SoA as the T. David Fitz-Gibbon Professor of Architecture in 2020. Sarosh is interested in an expansive notion of architectural agency, one that synthesizes architecture’s formal and tectonic capacities with questions of socio-ecological pertinence. His current design research considers agency across various scales and geographies, including an ongoing investigation into the entanglements between planetary food systems, ecological justice, synanthropism, and architecture.
Joshua D. Lee joined the SoA as an Assistant Professor in 2018. His research interests include sustainable design, adaptable architecture, systems-based architecture, public interest design, post-occupancy evaluation, educational facilities, and qualitative and computational analysis of architectural language. Joshua previously served as a Lecturer and Assistant Director of the Restoration Institute at Clemson University and as an architect at SOM-NY, SHW Group/Stantec-Austin, and Davis Wince on a wide array of projects.
Please join us in congratulating Sarosh and Joshua on their new roles with the school.
