Join us for the 2022 Architectural Ceramic Assemblies Workshop (ACAW) on Thursday, August 18 from 1pm-4pm (EST) followed by a keynote from Nader Tehrani of NADAAA at 5:30pm (EST).
Now in its seventh year, ACAW is the paramount venue for exploring innovations in architectural terra cotta. The webinar will share the research and designs of eight architectural firms (BKSK, BNIM, FXCollaborative, NADAAA, Pelli Clarke & Partners, Steven Holl Architects, WJE, Woods Bagot) that have been developing terra cotta solutions for a variety of architectural applications.
This year’s prototypes continue research into façade designs that integrate fenestration, photovoltaic panels, shading, and screening devices to develop more performative assemblies. Some of the projects also explore how the rainscreen system can be integrated into historic preservation projects. There are also projects exploring the sculptural possibilities of terra cotta as an architectural surface, exhibition display, and urban furniture.
Virtual event is free to attend. AIA credits available.
