We are proud to announce that two members of the SoA faculty have been named 2017-2018 Wimmer Faculty Fellows at CMU’s Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and Educational Innovation. Assistant Professors Joshua Bard and Stefan Gruber will be officially recognized at next year’s Celebration of Education event following the completion of their fellowship terms.

The Wimmer program, now in its 13th year, is made possible by a grant from the Wimmer Family Foundation. The fellowship is designed for junior faculty members interested in enhancing their teaching through concentrated work designing or re-designing a course, innovating new materials, or exploring a new pedagogical approach. Fellows work in close collaboration with Eberly Center colleagues and receive a stipend to acknowledge the work it takes to improve one's effectiveness as an educator.

The Eberly Center team looks forward to the opportunity to work with these instructors and is enthusiastic about the positive impact of this program in promoting the development of teaching among Carnegie Mellon’s junior faculty.
