SoA Student & Faculty Awards Application Deadline Extended to Tuesday 31 March

As the School of Architecture community is still adjusting to new living and learning arrangements in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we are further extending the deadline for applications for the 2020 SoA Design Awards for faculty and students to Tuesday 31 March at 11:59pm EST.

School of Architecture Students Featured in Local News Coverage of Lunar Gala

SoA students Michael Powell and Vincent DeRienzo were recently featured in a TribLive article about local Pittsburgh fashion experts assisting Carnegie Mellon’s ‘Lunar Gala’ student designers. The annual fashion show takes place Saturday 29 February at 8:00pm on the CMU campus. The 2020 show, ‘Yesterday’, features SoA students in leadership roles and on a number of the design teams.

Christina Brown (B.Arch ’20) Contributes to Studio Informing $650 Million Plan to Redevelop Singapore’s Sungei Kadut Industrial Estate into an Eco-District

Christina Brown (B.Arch ’20) participated in a study abroad course in spring 2019 that is now being used to inform the $650 million redevelopment of Singapore’s Sungei Kadut industrial estate into an Eco-District. Christina and teammate Supratim Sengupta led the presentation of the final studio proposal to government officials from JTC Corporation, the Singapore Food Authority (SFA), and the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).

School of Architecture B.Arch Fifth-Year Selena Zhen Recognized at 2019 AIAS Honor Awards

The SoA congratulates B.Arch fifth-year Selena Zhen on being awarded the Special Accomplishment Honor Award as part of the 2019 American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) Honor Awards. Each year the AIAS honors individuals and groups for their exemplary work in areas such as leadership, collaboration, scholarship, and service.
