We appreciate any assistance with our mission to provide appropriate, affordable, and replicable design solutions for community residents. There are often opportunities for industry professionals to provide design feedback or become an allied-discipline consultant. If you are a community member or fan of our work, we welcome people of all skill levels to volunteer time to help us build. A tax-deductible gift will help with tools and materials for design, prototyping, and final construction.

The UDBS prepares students to be thoughtful architects and design activists while completing a design-build project for a local community. Our studio is open to undergraduate Bachelor of Architecture and graduate Architecture-Engineering-Construction Management (AECM) students. 4th- and 5th-year undergraduates can choose the studio for one semester or do a deep dive for up to two years. Graduate students complete one intensive semester of practical field experience during their three semester program.
