The CMU SoA is pleased to announce that Dana Cupkova has been promoted to Associate Professor and awarded indefinite tenure. She previously held an Assistant Professorship at the SoA, and is Track Chair of the SoA’s Masters of Science in Sustainable Design (MSSD) program.
Azadeh Omidfar Sawyer appointed Assistant Professor in Building Technology
The CMU SoA is pleased to announce the appointment of Azadeh Omidfar Sawyer, LEED AP to the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Building Technology. Sawyer’s interdisciplinary research focuses on quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate building envelope design and performance though immersive visualizations such as virtual reality.

Nida Rehman appointed Assistant Professor in Resilient Cities and Urban Ecology
The CMU SoA is pleased to announce the appointment of Nida Rehman to the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Resilient Cities and Urban Ecology. Rehman is an architect, urban designer, and cultural geographer examining how processes of urbanization, the politics of planning and design, and the physical structure of cities produce ecological and infrastructural change, and impact human health.

Professor Francesca Torello Selected to Participate in National Endowment for the Humanities Program
Adjunct Professor Francesca Torello, PhD has been selected to participate in a four-week program with the National Endowment for the Humanities Institute this July at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. “Museums: Humanities in the Public Sphere” approaches museums as sites for interdisciplinary inquiry that offer windows on today's educational, ethical, and cultural debates.
