Joshua Bard Represents SoA as Speaker at 2018 Robotics in Architecture Conference at ETH Zurich

Associate Professor Joshua Bard presented two papers reflecting the ongoing contributions of the School of Architecture in the fields of robotic construction and additive manufacturing at the ETH in Zurich for the 2018 Association for Robotics in Architecture Conference (Rob|Arch).

School of Architecture Ranked #11 in DesignIntelligence Survey

The SoA's B.Arch program achieved a ranking of #11 overall in the 2018-19 DesignIntelligence Survey of Architecture Schools, and placed top-ten in 9 of 12 focus areas. Professor & Head Stephen Lee was also named one of the 25 Most Admired Educators this year.

Fall 2018 Lecture Series Continues Mon 17 Sep with Dwayne Oyler

Dwayne Oyler’s talk entitled "Dialogue" will discuss the evolution of the design work of Oyler Wu Collaborative. Beginning with the idea of line as space, their work has moved from small scale installations to large scale buildings. By looking at a range of projects, Oyler will cover their trajectory from purely line-driven projects to those that consider dialogues between line, surface, and volume.

SoA Faculty Awarded Funding from Manufacturing Futures Initiative & Pennsylvania Manufacturing Innovation Program for 3D-Printed Concrete Panels Research Project

Professors Dana Cupkova and Joshua Bard were recently awarded new funding to expand their interdisciplinary research project titled "Profile-3D-Printing Thermally Tuned Concrete Panels to Offset Mechanical Loads in Buildings” from the Manufacturing Futures Initiative 2018 and the Pennsylvania Manufacturing Innovation Program 2018.
