Gerrod Winston

Gerrod Winston is an adjunct with the School of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University. He is a licensed architect and owner of Winston Design + Development. Prior to founding Winston Design + Development, he practiced for over 20 years with several private architecture firms. Gerrod also holds certifications as a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and as a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) from Passive House Institute U.S. (PHIUS).

Active in several organizations, Gerrod maintains a strong interest in environmentally-conscious design, the wellbeing of the community, and mentoring younger people of color. Along with his position as past-president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), he has been involved with Habitat for Humanity as a member of their Sustainable Building Committee, is past president of the Young Preservationist Association (YPA), and is a former board member of the Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation.
