Suzy Li, LEED AP BD+C is a fifth-year PhD candidate for Building Performance and Diagnostics at the School of Architecture. She is currently co-instructing the course Environmental Systems: Climate & Energy in Buildings and is a TA for the course Productivity, Health, and the Sustainable Quality of the Built Environment. She co-instructed the course Urban Design Methods in 2014. Smart Surfaces is a critical component of her thesis topic on climate-resilient policymaking and guidelines for human comfort design in urban public spaces. She developed a 5-minute introductory video on Smart Surfaces for the Smart Surfaces Coalition.

She received her Bachelor in Urban Planning at Beijing University of Technology and her Master of Urban Design and Master Science of Architecture in 2013 and 2014 respectively at Carnegie Mellon. She has worked with the USGBC Orange County Market Leadership Advisory board, advising on strategic and tactical activities to expand the green building marketplace for the USGBC.
