Tonya Markiewicz

Adjunct Faculty

Tonya Markiewicz has worked in architecture for over 12 years in NYC and Pittsburgh, specializing in multi-family housing, historic restoration, interior design, and sustainability coordination for LEED projects. She is a graduate architect and project manager at Perfido Weiskopf Wagstaff + Goettel (PWWG), where she works on a range of residential, commercial, and institutional developments. She previously worked at Morris Adjmi Architects and Massaro Corporation. 

Tonya is also an active board member of the community development non-profit, Braddock Redux. Here she is leading the effort to renovate the historic Nyia Paige Braddock Community Center and works with various tenants and community stakeholders. 

She received her Bachelor of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, and Master of Architecture and Certificate in Ecological Architecture from The University of Pennsylvania where she also worked in student journalism and as an instructor for a graduate-level History and Theory of Architecture course. She has worked as an adjunct instructor at Carnegie Mellon University periodically since 2013.
