William Finglass Lecture
ORDER, EDGE, AURA Since SO – IL’s conception, the firm has committed itself in envisioning spaces for culture through the production of buildings, interiors, furniture and landscapes around the world. Order, Edge, Aura are three conceptual themes that encapsulate an attitude towards the design and realization of architecture in a time of increased instability.
JING LIU co-founded SO – IL with Florian Idenburg in 2008. In projects such as the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at the University of California in Davis and Kukje Gallery in Seoul, she has worked to deconstruct the boundary between institutional space and the public realm. A native of China, Liu received her education in China, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, concluding with a Master’s of Architecture from the Tulane School of Architecture in New Orleans. Liu is faculty member at The Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, and advises the Master’s thesis at Parsons, The New School of Design.
