OFFICE 52 is a multidisciplinary design firm founded by Isaac Campbell and Michelle LaFoe based in Portland, Oregon. Working at the intersection of architecture, planning, and design the firm seeks to more effectively address the complex challenges of our contemporary built environment. Their current practice ranges from large-scale planning and building projects for institutional clients to small-scale residential work and product design. Recent work includes an award-winning master plan for Stanford University’s new Science and Engineering Quad and designs for the first three buildings on that quad. Isaac is leading his firm’s design work on Carnegie Mellon’s new Sherman and Joyce Bowie Scott Hall. Sited at the heart of CMU’s campus, Scott Hall will transform the west end of the Hornbostel Mall around Hammerschlag and Wean Halls. It will also provide a new and vital interdisciplinary hub for the College of Engineering with facilties for nano-scale research, energy research, and biomedical engineering.
