Alan H Rider Distinguished Lecture

REAL STUFF Hodgetts and Fung see their work as an opportunity to explore the implications of the age of communication, and the role of architecture in advancing social objectives. Many of their completed projects have introduced ways of thinking that continue to resonate in spite of their temporary nature, such as the award winning and influential Towell Library, while some have been crafted to extend the legacy of celebrated popular icons, most notably the famed Hollywood Bowl.

MING FUNG, FAIA AND CRAIG HODGETTS, FAIA have demonstrated their dedication to architecture in both academia and in their practice at Hodgetts + Fung. Fung was Director of Graduate Studies at SCI-Arc from 2002-2015, and Hodgetts continues as a professor at UCLA leading the IDEAS off-campus studio. Their commitment is balanced with an award-winning practice that has contributed significantly to the intellectual and architectural heritage of Los Angeles. In addition to creating cultural, performing arts, and educational projects, the partners have created historically significant installations at major museums as well as temporary buildings.
