WINY MAAS founded MVRDV, together with Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries, in 1993. Early projects such as Villa VPRO (Hilversum) and the WoZoCo housing for elderly in Amsterdam brought MVRDV to international acclaim, and were soon followed by the Dutch Pavilion for the World Expo2000 in Hanover, the Silodam in Amsterdam, and the Flight Forum Business Park in Eindhoven.  Winy Maas is currently working on the Almere Floriade 2022 Masterplan in the Netherlands, DnBNOR Bank Headquarters in Oslo, Norway, Yongsan Towers in Seoul, Korea, and tower developments in Jakarta, Indonesia and Taiwain, among others.  He is a Professor at the Technical University of Delft, official city architect of Almere, to develop a vision for the Dutch boom town, Supervisor of the Bjorvika urban development in Oslo, and Director of the Why Factory, a research institute for the future city he founded in 2008 in connection with the Delft School of Design.
