SANDI HILAL is an architect and researcher, and founding member and Co-Director of DAAR- Decolonizing Architecture Art and residency. In the last ten years, from Palestine, Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti have developed a research-project based artistic practice that is both theoretically ambitious and practically engaged in the struggle for justice and equality. Hilal is among the founders of Campus in Camps, an experimental educational program established in Dheisheh Refugee Camp, Bethlehem.

She headed the infrastructure the infrastructure and Camp Improvement Program in the West Bank at United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) from 2008 to 2014. Hilal is co-author of Architecture after Revolution (Sternberg, Berlin 2014) and Senza Stato una Nazione (Marsilio, Venezia 2003).
